The Papago Storage facility, Arizona’s largest grid-scale battery, is now online and delivering 300 MW / 1,200 MWh of stored power to APS. Built by Recurrent Energy, a Canadian Solar subsidiary, the system uses containerized lithium-ferro-phosphate batteries and will eventually be part of a broader portfolio providing 450 MW of storage and 150 MW of solar. The $513 million project aims to support peak demand for 72,000 homes and includes local community funding.
