In a Tucson Sentinel op-ed, longtime political adviser Terry Bracy endorses Clara Pratte for the Arizona Corporation Commission. Pratte grew up on the Navajo Nation without electricity or running water and overcame a difficult home life. She went on to earn degrees from the University of Arizona and Carnegie Mellon, serve in federal fellowships, and founded the clean energy company Navajo Power.
Bracy argues Pratte would put ratepayers ahead of utilities, citing her criticism of rising rates, data centers’ water demands, and the commission’s neglect of seniors and people on fixed incomes. He frames her candidacy as a hopeful counter to what he calls widespread corruption in Washington, and urges voters to back her.
