Lucid Motors has launched a new collaboration called MINAC (Minerals for National Automotive Competitiveness) alongside four U.S.-based critical mineral producers—Alaska Energy Metals, Graphite One, Electric Metals USA, and RecycLiCo. The goal is to strengthen domestic supply chains for essential EV battery materials like nickel, graphite, manganese, lithium, and cobalt. The partnership aims to secure offtake agreements, streamline qualification processes, and reduce reliance on foreign sources, with support from political leaders in Arizona and Alaska.

Each partner brings a unique contribution: Alaska Energy Metals focuses on nickel, Electric Metals USA on manganese, Graphite One on natural and synthetic graphite, and RecycLiCo on battery recycling. Though still in early stages with non-binding agreements, the effort represents a strategic move toward national economic security, clean energy transition, and job growth through U.S.-sourced materials for EV and defense supply chains.
